Plenty of good vibes and mouth-watering milkshakes

Positive affirmations adorning Wodonga’s newest cafe has customers walking away with more than a sugar kick.

Nikkie Burns opened Inspired Cafe in High St two weeks ago and the feedback has been nothing but positive.

“Never stop dreaming”, “You are amazing” and Stay positive, work hard and make it happen” are just some of the positive affirmations covering the walls.

“Part of what we wanted to do was make people feel good while they eat and drink,” Mrs Burns said.

“People have said how the sayings brighten their day and that’s what we were aiming to do.”

The cafe offers grab and go lunches, coffee and specialises in extreme milkshakes.

Each week there is a new theme for the milkshakes but some of the regular flavours include oreo, rocky road and Willy Wonka lollies.

Mrs Burns had previously been working in online businesses and said opening a physical business had been a dream for the past five years.

“It’s been 12 months in the making and a lot of hard work has gone into making this a reality,” she said.

“My husband, Spencer, and I have six kids between us so it’s something we wanted to do as a family.”

Born and bred in Wodonga, Mrs Burns said it was important for her to stay local.

“We support local businesses and stock products from Howlong Bakery, Heinrich Bakery Wodonga, Corner Cafe Co and Love For Cakes,” she said.

The cafe is open on Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and Saturdays 9am to 2pm.
