New 24/7 gym in High St

Well-known businessman Nic Conway has expanded his fitness business into High St, Wodonga.

PT Fitness Express is in the former Snowgum building, opposite the water tower, and boasts a modern space with weights and cardio machines, as well as two showers.

The new space offers members a space to train 24/7 that is peaceful, airconditioned, and has access to personal trainers.

“We call it PT Fitness Express because it’s nice and quiet and you just walk in there and get your work out done,” Mr Conway said.

“Our General Manager, Joel O’Connell, identified the need for more options for girls in particular who want to work on their lower body, so we have accommodated that.

“The showers also make it convenient for those who work nearby and want to work out in their lunch breaks or before they start work.”

Mr Conway will continue to run his gym, PT Fitness in a larger premises in Chisholm Court, Wodonga, which caters to group fitness classes as well as 24/7 gym access and prides itself on being a family-friendly environment.

“We have a growing membership and this new gym offers another option, one that is free from kids running around because we already have a space for that,” he said.

“A lot of our members are focused on weight training and we wanted to provide a more private and quiet space for them.”

Mr Conway, who owned and operated The Kinross Wooldshed for 12 years, is proud of the environment he has built after taking over the PT Fitness business six years ago.

“We have an amazing membership base and community,” he said.

“It’s a lot like a community football club, we train together and people make an effort to say hello and all the banter that goes along with it.”

Mr Conway is also happy to be back in High St after many fond memories of working for his dad at Tony Conway’s Sports Store.

“With my dad’s history in the main street, it feels nice to be part of the reactivation,” he said.
