A new wardrobe staple

There’s been movement in Wodonga as the word got around, a new retail store has come to town.

The Stable Door at 194 High St has been attracting customers from far and wide … even a horse had a browse.

Wodonga store manager Robynne Crow described the past four weeks as a whirlwind of activity.

“It’s been crazy busy since we opened on August 15,” she said.

“On opening day we were still unpacking and just threw the doors open and it went off.”

The store sells a range of high quality clothing, boots, hats and accessories for men and women to cover any occasion.

Brands include R.M. Willliams, Ariat, Thomas Cook, Wrangler and more.

There’s also a large range of toddler and kid’s boots and clothing.

Mrs Crow said Ariat and R.M. Williams boots, for men and women, have been selling like hot-cakes.

“They come in different colours and soles,” she said.

“We also sell Burke and Wills oilskin products and clothing which are weather-proof.

“People are looking for quality and we are able to provide that with all our products.”

Mrs Crow said the online store is "incredibly popular" and Wodonga residents are lucky to have access to a physical store.

“It’s incredible to have a store here in Wodonga and this is my dream job,” she said.

“I had worked in pharmacy for years and love this style of clothing, the industry, just the whole lot and when I saw this job advertised I thought: ‘That’s my job, I’m having that and here I am’.”

“So I feel very privileged and lucky to be here.”

Owners Andrew and Catriona Ronalds opened the original store in Sale, Victoria last year before opening stores in Traralgon, Warragul, and Wodonga last month.

“It’s been so well received from people far and wide … we had a customer from Corryong just the other day,” Mrs Crow said.

“We even had a woman ride in on her horse.

“She came in originally and asked if she could come back with her horse.

“She did come back and it caused a lot of excitement, which was great for us.”

The store is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and Saturdays from 9am to noon.
