Barber shop owners expand into Wodonga

A barber franchise has opened its third location in the twin cities after branching out into the Wodonga Plaza.

Big Barber Delux is a full-service gentleman’s barber shop and also has stores at the West End Plaza in Albury and Lavington Square.

Marco Aiello, Manuel Vigilaturo and Ivan Petralia are the co-owners of all three stores, while Bobbi Kerr has come on board as co-owner of the Wodonga store.

“I have previously worked in barber shops in Wodonga and there is no seven day trading barber shop in Wodonga,” Bobbi said.

“There’s only one other barber shop that does a late night trade in Wodonga and the city is growing massively and it has the business here to sustain this.”

The Wodonga Plaza business is open 9am to 5.30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 9am to 7pm on Thursdays, 9am to 4pm on Saturdays and 10am to 3pm on Sundays.

Bobbi said there was no need to make an appointment.

“People can just walk in and take a ticket,” she said.

“We have had positive feedback from customers, they are happy to see another business come alive in the plaza that’s bringing in new faces and business.”

Services include haircuts for men and boys, wet shaves, beard styling and trims, hair art tattooing, head shaves and masculine cuts for women.

The business also sells its own range of quality hair care products including pomades, paste, wax and clay designed to suit specific hair types.

Big Barber is located where Mastercut Meats used to be in the plaza, but had been vacant for the past several years.
