Beauty salon snaps up prime location

Bombshell Beauty Academy manager Emily Johnston has welcomed an increase in customers after moving across the border into Wodonga’s central business district.

The beauty academy is located on the corner of High St and Stanley St, with entry via the Stanley St courtyard.

“It’s a great opportunity to expand our client base in a quieter location that is still on a main street,” Ms Johnston said.

The business had been operating across the border in Mate St for the past year and prior to that was located in Dean St for almost two years.

Eyelash extension, waxing, tanning and makeup application are some of the services provided, as well as online and in-salon training.

“We can teach people how to apply their own makeup or train those who are looking at becoming a professional makeup artist or beauty therapist,” Ms Johnston said.

“We have students from Australia and all over the world thanks to our online courses.”

Founder Kimmie Fox started the business with a dream to provide quality learning and education in ways that were not being provided in mainstream educational centres.

The online beauty therapy courses started not long before the pandemic hit.

“We always had a plan to go online with courses but COVID gave us the push and boosted this for us because people were looking to learn new things,” Ms Johnston said.
